For this year’s Boston Heart Walk, we came out and walked! From Boston to Bamako, Dakar, to Paris, Singapore, Reims, Atlanta, Plymouth, Warsaw, Niaguiss, Ziguinchor, Casamance, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Beyrouth, Milton, and more….
This blog is a deeply personal reflection on how living with heart disease transformed my life—not just physically but emotionally and spiritually. It explores how I found clarity, redefined success, embraced vulnerability, and discovered lasting meaning and purpose through pain and uncertainty.
Between January and April 2025, the Heart of a Giant Foundation (HGF) conducted over two dozen community-based blood pressure screening and health education events across 7 Greater Boston-area neighborhoods and online: Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, East Boston, Brockton, and Bridgewater.
