Boston Heart Walk – Call To Support

I hope you are ready to enjoy spring. My team and I are already looking beyond to the fall. I’m writing you to let you know that again I will be participating in the Boston Heart Walk (September 8th, 2018) and would like your support in raising funds for the American Heart Association, AHA. Your involvement will help build healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

This is a very important cause for me. I live with a congenital heart condition known as left ventricular non-compaction or LVNC. Having survived heart failure on multiple occasions, I currently live with an LVAD heart pump implanted in my chest, while I wait for a heart transplant. Please check out www.heartofagiant.net for more.

Thanks to past research and other efforts, cardiomyopathy can be effectively managed with medications and devices like my LVAD pump for many that live with this disease. To date, I am one of them. With the help of a tremendous team of doctors at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and hard work by my team and myself, I am enjoying significant improvements in energy levels and in my health in general. With your donation, you would support the efforts towards a cure to heart disease. In addition, you would be helping many people like me live healthier lives and be productive. At the same, because I have had this condition, my sons have a greater chance of developing cardiomyopathy. Continued investment in research efforts will further the understanding of this disease and lead to even more effective treatments, which could potentially help my children or the countless others who will develop cardiomyopathy.

Please follow this link to make a donation – Support our team.

My family and I, along with friends and my care team walked for the first time last year. We didn’t know what to expect. We were so moved by seeing thousands of people who came out to participate last year (Link thank you post). Thank you again for your generous support. Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone. Yours wholeheartedly, -Bouba, #heartofagiant
