We are building something real. Come build it with us.

HGF team at the Mattapan office.
Roots, not just credentials

We hire for the knowledge that lives inside a neighborhood.

Our community health workers come from the neighborhoods they serve. They speak the languages of the people they sit with. They know the farmers market schedule, the senior center hours, and which bus line gets you there. That knowledge is not a bonus. It is the whole model.

Our staff team brings expertise in health operations, program development, finance, communications, and community engagement. What they share is a belief that community health infrastructure matters, that it deserves to be built well, and that the people closest to the problem are best positioned to solve it.

What it feels like to work here

A small, growing organization doing serious work.

You will see the impact of what you do.

A participant whose blood pressure dropped after six visits with a health coach you supported. A grant that funds three new sites because of a report you helped write. A screening that catches something nobody knew was there.

You will work alongside people who live this mission.

Bouba built this organization while sustained by a mechanical heart pump. Our health workers show up every week in the neighborhoods where they were raised. Ubuntu is not a value statement here. It is how we treat each other.

You will be challenged.

We are growing from a grant-dependent organization into one with earned revenue, remote patient monitoring, and health care system contracts. The work is expanding. The expectations grow with it.

Community health worker roles

Our community health workers are the foundation of everything we do.

You do not need a clinical degree. You need deep community roots, a commitment to showing up consistently, and the ability to earn and keep trust. We provide training, supervision, and support. You bring presence and connection.

Current sites span Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, East Boston, Hyde Park, and Brockton. We screen for cardiometabolic risk factors, educate participants about their health, coordinate care, and follow up. In six languages. Every week.

If you live in one of our neighborhoods, speak one of our community languages, and want to do work that matters close to home, reach out. Even when no specific role is posted.

Trust isn’t built on credentials. It’s built on shared experience.

Staff and operational roles

A lean team that runs its function well and stays grounded in the mission.

We cover health operations, program development, finance, fundraising, communications, and systems. When we hire, we look for people who collaborate across a small team and stay grounded in the mission without needing to be managed toward it.
