2017 Boston Heart Walk

Hi Everyone! Thank you again for joining us at the 2017 Boston Heart Walk on Saturday, Sept 9th.

Heart Disease, on average, claims the lives of over 12,000 Massachusetts residents every year. Strokes claim at least 2,500 residents as well. It is this awareness that we are trying to create a new consciousness about cardiovascular health for all.

We are very thankful for everything that you do to support organizations such as the American Heart Association. Thanks to the life-saving research you help make possible. Many heart patients like myself are stronger, and ‘healthier’. Thank you to you and the many other hears who are able to celebrate this year’s end with loved ones. No amount of thanks would be enough.

I walked six miles along the Esplanade with family, friends, and members of my Brigham care team. I felt amazing after the walk that my family and I kept going, clocking another six miles on the same day. I was only able to go a few hundred feet back in April before tiring out! I can’t believe the drastic improvement!

This moment was a large source of joy and happiness for me. 24,000 steps are such a difference in comparison to myself back in April where I could barely move a few hundred feet before becoming extremely tired. This is such an amazing milestone for me in my cardiovascular health and that with persistence and hope, we are able to do awesome things and that amidst adversity, we can press forward.

Special shoutout to my care team at the Brigham for joining us and for sponsoring our fan t-shirts!

Thank you again for giving that extra mile that we all need.

Vivement, 2018 (Bigger and more)!
