About Heart of a Giant Foundation

Heart of a Giant Foundation (HGF) is a Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the early detection, diagnosis, and support of cardiac risk factors in high-risk populations.

HGF was founded by Somaneh “Bouba” Diemé. Bouba has been dealing with congestive heart failure, a condition related to his congenital heart disease, for 10 years. Recently, he underwent a heart transplant and made a strong recovery.

As a board member of the Heart of a Giant Foundation, members are expected to fulfill the following minimum obligations to support the organization's mission and success:

    • Help establish and maintain sound financial controls for responsible resource management.

  3. Fundraising:

    • Make a personal financial contribution that aligns with your capacity.

    • Utilize your personal and professional networks to identify potential donors and funding sources.

    • Participate in fundraising initiatives and events to support the foundation's financial sustainability.

  4. Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate in the development of HGF’s long-term strategic plan.

    • Ensure the plan aligns with the mission, vision, and goals of the organization.

    • Actively participate in the implementation and evaluation of the strategic plan's progress.

  5. Advocacy and Promotion:

    • Serve as an ambassador for the foundation within your personal and professional circles.

    • Promote the foundation's mission, programs, and impact to raise awareness and support.

    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships to expand the foundation's reach.

  6. Compliance and Governance:

    • Ensure the organization’s compliance with legal requirements and regulations applicable to nonprofit organizations.
