I have experienced such a significant health improvement since May – where most of this improvement occurred during the summer months. Shortly after the Heart Walk in the beginning of September, I decided to tackle a little more in my life by adding some work in various areas of interest.

Medically, I am fairing quite well. Check-ups and various testing are reporting very well and are extremely encouraging. I am able to do my part by doing tasks such as chores, groceries, among other things. Lovely Wife even mentions that my mood has improved. I am blessed, happy, and grateful!

At the very beginning, finding the right mixture between balancing time and elevated energy levels is such a challenging feat. By the start of October, I had achieved a better balance to keep my life exciting and full without letting other things fall to the wayside.

At its core, the two things that I have learned thus far are that:

  1. Mindfulness through a stable mental health and spirituality are at the foundations of my life, moreso highlighted as a heart patient.
  2. I believe strongly that labour – in its various forms – is an extremely sacred trait for every human being, not only to showcase their worth, but to provide a means to continue beautiful work for the betterment of our world.

In sum, my journey as a transplant candidate couldn't be any more complex, arduous, and extraordinary. Everything that I have done and will be doing is a way to say, "Thank you" to my care team, my family, and my friends during this time of my life.
