Somaneh Bouba
In the words of Gary, of Sutter Medical Center, "the Bouba story received a generous amount of coverage from the media throughout the Central Valley."
Sacramento Bee
The Sacramento Bee had the story on its website. The print edition teased the story on the top front, above the masthead, with the headline: "Man whose heart nearly failed gives thanks to Sutter doctors."
All of The Sacramento Bee's sister newspapers in the Valley, Fresno Bee, Modesto Bee, Merced Sun-Star, as well as the Tribune of San Luis Obispo, carried the story for a total reach of more than 1.9 million readers.
Television Coverage
KCRA-NBC-3 ran a longer feature that includes quotes from both Dr. Krishnan and me. It ran three times for a Nielsen audience of 175,000.
KTXL-FOX-40's story ran twice that night for a Nielsen audience of 75,000.
A Visit Full of Gratitude
It was really special to meet everyone again, Dr. Zi Jian, Dr. Krishnan, Joel, Gretchen, Tina, Paul, Gary, Liz, and the team as a whole. Going back to Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento after 3 years (and this time with our first son) felt both overwhelming and exhilarating.
If I had to sum the entire experience up in one word, it would be, Gratitude. I am grateful for the great work that my team has done, for how they set me up for success and for them continuing to support me and my family to this day. I left Sutter with a more expanded vision, a bigger thirst for life and more drive to continue to pursue my goals.
